Cathay Pacific was founded in Hong Kong in 1946. The Group has been deeply committed to its home base, extending to the rest of Greater Bay Area, and making substantial investments to develop Hong Kong as one of the world’s leading international aviation centres.

Cathay Pacific is the brand of our airline. As at 30th June 2024, Cathay Pacific together with its subsidiaries HK Express and Air Hong Kong, had 231 aircraft. Our passenger and cargo airlines offered scheduled services to 94 destinations worldwide, including 20 airports in 17 cities in the Chinese Mainland. Furthermore, the Group served an additional 151 destinations through codeshare agreements.
The Cathay Group has 73 new passenger aircraft (as at 30th June 2024) scheduled to join the fleet in the coming years.
Cathay Pacific itself had 178 passenger and cargo aircraft as at 30th June 2024. The Group’s other investments include catering, laundry, ground-handling and cargo terminal companies;, and its corporate headquarters is based at Hong Kong International Airport.
Shares of Cathay Pacific are listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
HK Express, a low-cost carrier based in Hong Kong offering scheduled services within Asia, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific and had 36 aircraft as at 30th June 2024.
Air Hong Kong, an express all-cargo carrier offering scheduled and charter services in Asia, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific operating 17 aircraft as at 30th June 2024.

Member airlines include: Cathay Pacific, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines. In addition, Oman Air will be joining the oneworld global alliance in 2024. And oneworld connect partner, Fiji Airways will become the 15th full member of the alliance in 2025.
